A middle-aged man
With an unwrapped choc ice
Stands beside the River Thames.
The man looks at the choc ice
With a strange light in his eyes.
Rush hour passers-by
Fail to notice
That embedded in the choc ice
Is a microminiaturised
Laser-beam weapon.
Two days later,
His wife discovers his body
On the Hackney marshes.
The body is still alive.
It is bird-watching with its secretary.
Lunch in Salisbury
